there are numerous Quincey families around the UK and elsewhere, this family is centred around Leicester and Lincolnshire with some individuals appearing in london, darlington, Wearside and perhaps many other places.
the family has been traced back to James Quincey born in 1764, but to date we know not where he originates from, he lived his life in Bracenorough as a Grocer to the village and as Parish Clerk, as can be seen he was twice married raising numerous children, James his eldest son also became Parish Clerk. Interestingly James would have been aware that His Royal Higness George III was a regular visitor the famous Braceborough Spa in an attempt to cure him of his madness.
