The Howard-Pope first family reunion was held August 2, 1998 in Macon, Georgia. It was very successful; however, it wasn't until August 25, 26, & 27, 2000 that we faithfully begun gathering family history information.

We are continuously adding family information to subsequent issues of the Howard-Pope family history.

The history begins with Miles and Sara Howard of Bibb County, Macon, Georgia. They borne four (4) children, Isaac Howard, Gertrude Howard, Josephine Howard and George Washington Howard.

Even though the Howard family started two generations before the Pope family, I would like to get family history on the Pope family dating back two generations as well. I started the Pope family history with John Mosley Pope of the Bellevue community of Bibb County, Macon, Georgia because of unknown history; however, I would like to be consistent as with the Howard's and start with his Grandfather like I did with his wife Carrie Merion Howard-Pope's grandfather, namely Miles Howard.

If you have any information to contribute, please send your input to my internet address or contact me via telephone call.

I will be happy to share any information that I may have with you.

Many thanks to Cynthia Hightower-Pope for the beginning history she contributed in 1998. This is where I got my start.

Thanks!
