Notes for Elizabeth(Bessie) Norman: Elizabeth ( Bessie ) was born on the farm in Glendhu Bay Road with Mrs Granny Wilson as midwife. Bessie worked for Dr Morris in Pembroke. She married Joseph Bates Nicolas Dunning and lived at Makarora, firstly at Moffats Creek at the Makarora wharf and later to a new house further up on their farm. This house was destroyed by fire and the only things saved were a camera, binoculars and the blankets off one bed. A new house was built a short distance away near the cow shed, for by then Joe had set up a cow farm, milking 95 cows and separating for cream which was then sent to Dunedin. By this time they had three children. The slump came and the family moved to Cambridge and later to Henderson. Bessie Died in 1943 only 40 years of age.
