George Winn Godwin died between 1850 and 1860. He was never known to be in Maury County, Tennessee so is believed to be buried in Williamson County, Tennessee. No marker has been found to date but two posibilities is the Sparkman Cemetery in Boston and the Sparkman, Patton Crawford Cemetery near Thompson Station, both in Williamson County. No record of division of his estate has ever been found not a will.

A question still remains where George Godwin is burried but my thought is he is buried in the Greenbrier Cemetery in Dist. 2 in Williamson County. I think this because his son Reddick burried his son John J J Godwin there in 1855 and is the only Godwin buried in Williamson County during that time peroid. The rest all buried in Maury County, Tennessee.

Notes for Sarah Ann Sparkman:
Sarah age 85 listed in household of son George W. Godwin Jr. in 1860 Census Dist. 19 Santa Fe Post Office dated 14 June 1860.
