Enlisted in the Tennessee Militia through Robertson Co., TN in 1814, joining the battle of 1812 over maritime rights of neutral countries. Richard Rose served as a drummer under Captain Crunk and Colonel Cocke of the Tennessee Militia.

The Rose family moved to Christian Co., KY before 1830 - 1830 Census Records; then moved to Stewart County after 1840.
