The William Watson Family Of Buckingham Co. Va.
William Watson and his brother, George, immigrated from Scotland sometime between 1740-1770. William married Fanny Wilkerson, Dau. of Thomas Wilkerson of Va. George married Comfort Wilkerson, Fanny's sister. Both Wm. & Geo. were in the Rev. War. William and Fanny had 10 children; James B: 9 Apr.1780, Wilkerson B:28 July 1782, Polley B: 14 Sep. 1784, William B: 8 Oct. 1786, George B:28 Mar. 1789, Daniel B: 14 Mar. 1791, Nancy Wm. B: 20 Jan. 1793, Thomasgal B: 28 Jun. 1795, Powhatan B:6 Sep. 1797, Carolline B: 27 Oct. 1799. (from Wm. Watson Family Bible in my possession). I am searching for William's brother George's descendants as well as the descendants of William's Sons James and Daniel and Dau. Polley. Some of the children migrated to Missouri, Tenn. and Texas. If you descend from these lines, contact me. Many of the Watsons and allied lines of Perrow,Bagby, and Robertson are buried in the Watson/Perrow Family Cemetery located on the Family estate in Buckingham Co. Va. A marble marker with bronze tablet listing all known relatives buried there is in the process of being placed in the cemetery. A dedication service is scheduled for 25 Apr. 1998 at Pleasant Grove Bapt. Church, the home church for many of the Watsons, and a graveside service is planned with a Honor Guard provided by the Appomattox Va., chapter of the Sons Of The Confederacy if weather permits. more info available by E-Mail request. |
