Notes for Samuel Scott: Notes for Samuel Scott, (Frank Scott) [Evidence for Samuel Scott being the father of Anthony Scott can be found by comparing two original plats (dated 1735 and 1747) which can be viewed in the State archives of Virginia. The cover page for the first plat states"Mr. Samuel Scott's plan for 200 acres; October 20, 1735." The second page of this same plat reads, "Samuel Scott/ 200 acres/ collected by Wm Slaughter/ for his son. In 1747, another survey was performed over the same property for Anthony Scott. Based on a land survey of the property Anthony was residing in Culpepper Co. , Frank Scott located on the back of the deed and survey that the land was a gift from Anthony's father, Samuel Scott. This deed and survey are located in the records of Culpepper Co. Courthouse. Since proven unfounded. Refer to Virginia Archives notes by Martin Scott, winter of 1998 visit to Richmond, VA. Absolutely no basis to assume Samuel as father to Anthony, based upon examination of original document. Other than Anthony, Samuel probably had the following brothers and sisters; James that moved to Pittsylvania, Thomas that moved to Culpepper, (Mary) Ann that married Thomas Burke, John who moved to 96 District of South Carolina and maybe others.
