John James
15 Nov 1838; proved 21 Jan 1839 p. 16, Book A, Crawford Co. GA
He directed that his cotton crop and as much as necessary of his corn and fodder crop be sold to pay debts and leaving as much as possible to support family. If necessary he also listed a gray mare, mule, colt, yoke of oxen and cart, two cows and calf be sold. To his wife Elizabeth James, for use during her lifetime or widowhood, all the balance of his estate, consisting of a tract of land, one negro girl, stock of horses, cattle and hogs. To son James A. James and son David James, a good horse each when they become of age. At the death of wife or marriage, all property to be sold and divided between all his children, to wit: Allen James, Benjamin James, Mary James, Alexander James, John A. James Absalom G. James, Nancy James and James A. James, Elizabeth James, David James and Martha James.
