2. ABSALOM GEORGE² JAMES (JOHN¹) was born January 27, 1814 in Georgia, and died Bef. 1890 in Dale County, Alabama. He married (1) MARY MCNIGHT. She was born Abt. 1830 in Ile. He married (2) MARTHA YOUNGBLOOD October 23, 1835 in Bibb County Georgia. She was born January 07, 1817 in Georgia, and died January 29, 1864 in Alabama.

I found the following marriage in "Marriages & Obituaries from Macon Messenger 1816-1865" by Rocker. This is the only information that was available:

29 Oct 1835: Married in this county on Friday evening 23 inst. by John Smith, Mr. Absalom James to Miss Caroline Youngblood of Twiggs County.

                  Note: Absolom remarried Keary McNight after the death of his first wife . She died January 29, 1864. Their first child Warren James was age three at the time of the 1870 Census, therefore Absolom must have remarried about two years after death of Martha in 1866.

1880 Census, Dale County, Alabama, Beat 11 near village of Clopton, enumerated by B. M Mathers on 26 Day of June 1880. The enumerator, B. M Mathens must have been hard pressed for the spelling of names. All females by the name of Elizabeth were spelled as it sounded as Lizzie or Lizibeth. In addition he spelled the name of McNight as Macknite. He spelled the first name of Absolom as Abse J. Previous first names of Absolom second wife of Keary but in the 1880 census the name is Mary. Which is the correct name is unknown.

NOTE: Special information must be given that the middle name of Absolom (GEORGE) may not be correct.
Although oral family history and wedding information from Later Day Saints indicated this middle initial was "G", all census I have reviewed have shown the Middle Initial to be of varied letters.
