Henry Augustus Hill had ten children, nine by his first wife Martha Jane Thigpen and one by his second wife Maggie Martha Evans Barnfield. I am going to list the children only by name, birth date, spouse, and number of children.

Orlando Riley Hill b. 7/18/1886. Married Maude B. (?) One stepchild, Opal b. Byrd. Last living in Tillman County, Ok in 1910.

Carter Lee Hill b. 10/1/1888. Married Ada Margaret Eason. Nine children. Died 4/4/1928. Buried in Vernon, Texas

Charlie Henry Hill, b.5/10/1891. Died as a child on 4/14/1898. He is buried in Stewart Cemetery in Hopkins County, Texas.

Alfred Critt Hill, b. 9/11/1893. Married first Lula Elsa Brock and had two children. Second marriage Cossette Louise Craver and had one child. Died March 1973 in Dallas, Texas.

Myrtle Mae Hill b. 4/11/1897. Married William Blain Jones and had two children. Died 9/29/1981 in Sudan, Texas.

Grady Parmer Hill b. 9/21/1899. Married Pearl Barnfield and had five children. Died 3/22/1989 in Sudan, Texas.

Jack Velton Hill b. 7/26/1902. Married Lenna R. Grooms and had six children. Died 2/15/1975 in Sudan, Texas.

Opal Racheal Hill b. 10/2/1904. Married Jim Rogers. No other information.

Mattie Florence Hill b. 1/27/1908. Married Charles Thomas Mayo and had six children. Died 10/4/1998 in Stockton, California.

Percy Dee "Pete" Hill b. 5/10/1910. Married Johnnie Faye Benson and had two children.

Tempe Gwendy Hill b. 1920. Married George Stinnett and had two children.

I am lacking information on most of these families. I have extensive information on Carter and quite a lot on Grady. Just received information on Mattie. Still lacking information on the others. I would appreciate any data that is available.

The one-year trial of the newsletter is now ¾ complete with this issue. As stated in the first letter the continuance would be based on interest and participation. I have received favorable comments but very little participation as to information submitted. Gathering and sharing information is the purpose of the letter.

Charles Thomas "Tom" Mayo died

in Stockton, California December 23, 2000. Charles Thomas Mayo, beloved husband of the late Mattie Mayo, loving father of Tom Wade Mayo, Vernon Dean Mayo, Royce Keith Mayo, Larry Lee Mayo of Stockton.

Danny Michael Mayo of Lodi and the late Johnnie Lucille Lancaster. Cherished grand-father of thirteen, great grandfather of twenty and the great great grandfather of one. Survived by numerous nieces and

nephews. Tom was a member of Labors Union and the East Side Church of Christ.

A native of Tioga, Texas, born March 15, 1903, died at the age of 97 years. Friends are invited to attend the funeral services at DeYoung Shoreline Chapel, Thursday December 28, at 10:00 A.M.

Committal services will be held at Cherokee Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Wednesday beginning at 12 noon until 7:00 P.M.

Tom was the husband of Mattie Florence Hill, ninth child of Henry Augustus Hill and Martha Jane Thigpen.
