Marilyn Hanby Weber of Clarkston, MichiganUpdated May 6, 2001 |
I have been researching the Hanby family of Brandywine Hundred, New Castle County, Delaware for several years now. I have found Richard Hanby there in 1727 in a New Castle deed and have documented proof that I am a direct descendant of this Richard Hanby. I have been to three Hanby reunions in the Wilmington Delaware area, the first one in 1993, again in 1995, and the last one in July, 1999. I have submitted two names to the Delaware Genealogical Society's Project, Delaware Families from 1787-1800 and one of my entries, for Richard Hanby, son of the above mentioned Richard, will soon be published in the DGS Newsletter. I am a member of the Daughters of the Revolution, and recently was successful in getting Richard Hanby's name added to the DAR Patriot Index. I am interested in hearing from others doing research on the Hanby family and related families. |
