Drew WRIGHT Weeks

Edit Your Page
Welcome! I'm researching both my ancestors from Virginia and my huband's ancestors from South Carolina, which has been a bit confusing at times with WRIGHTs in both trees.

The earliest ancestor was Arthur M. WEEKS (b. 1749) in Edgecombe Co., NC. About 1800 he moved to Barnwell Co. From Scotland, the WRIGHTs appeared in Edgefield Co., SC around 1767. Other surnames: BYERS, PRICE, and HARRIS. I'm especially seeking information about Augustus WEEKS who disappeared from SC around 1908-1910 with Maude WRIGHT.

The WRIGHTs from Scotland appeared prior to 1725 in Amherst Co., (now Nelson), VA. They remained there over 150 years before moving to Goochland Co., VA. The DREWs came from England to NY State about 1830, and moved to VA around 1837. They lived in King William, Surry and Sussex Counties, Va. The TYUS family from London, ENG, moved to Surry Co., VA prior to 1657.

Look at this site if you have any interest in the following surnames: BALDWIN, BATTE, BARHAM, BARCY, BURNETT, BYERS, CHILDRESS, DREW, GEORGE, GILLAM, HALL, HARRIS, HILL, HOWLE, HUNT, JACKSON, NORWOOD, PHILLIPS, POYTHRESS, PRICE, READY, ROSCHER (Rouscher), SANDYS, TYUS, and a few others.
