I am researching the following surnames: Weeks, Carter, Johns, Griffin, and Maddox.
WEEKS: James Berlon Weeks (died 1944 in WWII) married Gussie Mae Carter in Dixie or Levy County in the late 1930's-early 1940's. They had 2 children: my father, Tony Berlon Weeks and my aunt, Bonnie Fay Weeks. The family lives mainly in Levy and Dixie Counties, Florida.
CARTER: grandmother Gussie Mae Carter born in Dixie County, Florida. Not much information.
JOHNS: great-grandfather, Morris Smith Johns (1892-1955), wife unknown. Had one child, my grandmother, Harriet Elizabeth Johns. Grandma never talked about her mother, just she died at an early age and is buried near Dunnellon, Florida.
GRIFFIN: Leonard Clifton Griffin (1887-1964) married Ophelia Maddox (1891-1967). They had 2 boys: my grandfather, Clifton Maddox Griffin (1915-1991) and my uncle, Theron Johnson Griffin (1917-1995). My grandfather, Clifton, married Harriet Elizabeth Johns (1918-1991), in Dunnellon, Florida, in 1938. They had 3 children: Faith Elizabeth (1947-1996), Clifton Morris (1952-1961) and James Blaine (1961- ). Family lived(s) in Bronson, Florida.
MADDOX: Ophelia Maddox married Leonard Clifton Griffin. Her father was a doctor. She had 3 sisters. Family lived in Alpharetta, Georgia.
Any information on any of these families would be greatly appreciated. I am especially interested in finding more info about my great-grandmother Johns.
