This is an on-going update of the "Edward Chapman of Ipswich" genealogy written by Jacob Chapman of Exeter, NH in 1893. I have been working on this since 1994 and have gathered information from birth, death, and marriage records. I have also collected photos, obituaries, articles and immigration information from the Bethel Historical Society and the Portland Historical Society. My thought in placing this on the internet is to attract other Edward Chapman descendants in hopes of adding their updated line to this one so that all lines are represented!

Elizabeth (Betty Real) Brown (62 KB) Elizabeth Brown aka Betty Real 4/10/1913- 9/9/1969 dau of G.Pearl Chapman Brown and Frank Brown. This was taken during her "Heyday" in 1936. After leaving the Ziegfeld Follies she started her own all male band with the help of her brother-in-law Andy Pino, a trumpet player.
Grace "Gay" Maude Chapman Dooley (60 KB) Gay C. Dooley 6/16/1883 - 6/2/1951 dau of Wm. Edmund & Elizabeth W. Chapman wife of Michael Francis Dooley (allowed a child to be buried in her plot prior to her death, no headstone for Gay erected)

Hamid Sirgheney (17 KB) Hamid Sirgheney (aka Sweeny Hamid) 1/14/1900 - 3/25/1968 husband of Muriel Chapman Sirgheney. Brought to the States at age 6 by his cousins George & Gene Hamid (of Hamid's Steele Pier)as part of a Tumbling Troupe.

Michael Francis Dooley (16 KB) Michael F. Dooley 12/17/1872 - 10/28/1942 husband of Grace "Gay" Chapman Dooley. Worked for the Railroad in Portland, ME as a stenographer. Served in the Spanish-American War.
Paul, Dorothy, & Muriel (12 KB) Pictured here (L-R)is Paul, son of Muriel & 1st husband Hamid Sirgheney, Dorothy Chapman Pino 8/25/1899 - 6/10/1959, Muriel's sister, and Muriel. This was taken in the Will Rogers Memorial Hospital during one of Murial's stays.
