My family research is twofold - My father's family all originated in Meckleburg-Schwerin and from there went to Grey County, Ontario, Canada. North American family lines are Weirmeir/Weirmier and Mauer. My mother's direct line originated in Hastings County, Ontario, Canada, and intermarried with families with origins in the American Colonies, being mostly of United Empire Loyalist families. Family lines are Robbins, Keller/Keller, Reed/Reid, Parks/Parke, and Badgley.
My wife's ancestral lines in Canada are in Peterborough County and came from England and Ireland.These lines are Hurl, Edwards, Dunk, Blanco and Curtain.
The majority of my research is in Hastings County where I have been building a file with all families associated with my ancestral lines including branches which have gone to the United States of America. The Wiermeier family research was done by using Latter Day Saints Family Research centers and the microfilms of Mecklenberg-Schwerin churches in conjunction with a book that I produced with the help of all other living family branches.
My father, Herman Frederick Weirmeir went to Western Canada from Grey County, Ontario to look for greener pastures. There he met my mother, Edith Elizabeth Robbins who had gone west with her father from The Bancroft, Ontario area. Later both my parents and my mother's family returned to Ontario to the Bancroft area.
I have intentionally included only information up to deceased generations thus avoiding disclosing information on living individuals. More information is available on later generations to those persons qualified to receive such information. I will be adding information on deceased individuals as it becomes available and on other branches. Check back for updates.
The 23 Dec 2003 Update includes descendants of William Reed, UE compiled by myself, Robert "Bob" Campbell and Jo-Anne (Weatherell) Reid. Also included are ancestors of spouses where known. The suppliers of individual bits of data are shown as sources, therefore credit for this data is not provided here. Any contributors who would like to have their email address included on this page please let me know. 10,764 names.
The 8 Jan 2004 update contained the remaining descendants of Cyrenius Parke, UE. The contributors of this information are too numerous to mention here but the primary contributors were Cora (Gray) Reid and Anne Joan (Barton) Buxton. Further updates will be provided as information becomes available. 11,952 names.
Updated 27 Feb 2005 - 22863 names. This update is a new compilation and includes my wife's family. It also includes Keller descendants back to the origin in America. This adds lines of Dafoe and Asselstine who descended from Christian Keller. Also included are now all Badgley lines in Canada, including those that went back to the USA and all known descendants of James Parke, the father of James and Cyrenius Parke, UE,.
