| The surnames that I am researching for my family tree are WEIR and SCHRADER. My paternal great grandfather, Henry Weir was born in Wales in 1840. He came to the United States prior to 1870 and settled in the coal region of northeastern Pennsylvania (Luzerne, Carbon or Schuylkill County). His first wife (name unknown) died and he remarried Elizabeth Weston of Tonwanda, PA prior to 1880. Henry died in 1910 and Elizabeth died in 1937. Children include, Thomas, Harry, Alexander, Ralph (my grandfather), David, Joseph, John, Elizabeth and Clara. There are several more that I have not been able to identify. I do know that there were approximately 20+ children between the two wives. My maternal great grandfather, Peter Schrader was born in Germany in 1852 and came to the United States prior to 1880. His wife, Magdalene Dahm was also born in Germany in 1854. They had 5 children that I've been able to identify. They are Fredrick, Lawrence (my grandfather), Catherine, Margaret and Leah. They lived in Hazleton Pennsylvania from the time they came from Germany. Peter died in 1912 and Magdalene died in 1924. Any information would be greatly appreciated. I am willing to share information that I have accumulated. |
