Notes for Raymond A. Dorsey: "Dorsey honored by U.S.Navy for services. Chief Petty Officer Raymond A. Dorsy was recently honored with a special citation for meritorius service for his work as food service supervisor. He was serving aboard the USS Long Beach, the citation covered one year, November 1966-1967.
CPO Dorsey was responsible for planning, preparing and servings meals to a crew of over 1,000 men. His work was vital to the morale and well being of the ship's company on all assignments, including a tour in the Gulf of Tonkin. Dorsey was reared in Ada and educated here. He is the son of Mrs Bill Dorsey, 300 W. 6th. A career serviceman, he has been in the Navy for 26 years. He has been around the world seven times and his service has included two tours in Vietnam....."
