Hello..... I am attempting to contact descendants of ANNA MAE (BURNETT) JOHNSON. Anna was born July 29, 1891. During the 1960's to Feb. 1971, she was known as "GRANNY" to hundreds of local kids that passed through the elementary school cafeteria; where she worked in the kitchen. Granny spent her early years on Burnett's Creek and later moved to Kimberlin Heights Rd. She belonged to New Hopewell Baptist Church and rests there today, alongside her husband and family members. Historically, Anna married a descendant of well known lineage:(1) Detmar and Rinske STANSBURY. They reportedly arrived from Holland in 1658, with their 6yr. old son (2) Tobias STANSBURY who later married Sarah RAVEN (3) Samuel A. STANSBURY, Sr. -m- Mary PORTER(4) Samuel A. STANSBURY, Jr. -m- name unknown(5) Luke STANSBURY -m- 2nd wife Nancy HADDOCK(6) Comfort STANSBURY married James WILHITE (7) Mary Emaline WILHITE married Lorenzo Dow JOHNSON(8) Alfred Haskell JOHNSON married Anna Mae BURNETT and brings us nearly to date. MOST IMPORTANTLY - As Haskell was hit by a car and died of resulting pneumonia, in the mid-1930's; Anna was left to raise their 8 children (Generation #9) alone! As one of the known 14 grandchildren (Gen. #10).... I am hoping to authenticate what we have and add on Gen. #11 and 12 as well, to this proud lineage. I am also missing some dates regarding the eight kids: Garlen, Fritz, Viola, Gertie, Wilbur, Ross, Raymond and Alfred. So IF you are a grandchild or great-grandchild of "Granny Anner" of Knoxville, Tennessee...... please write me and allow me to share what I have learned about our heritage. I would love to update this line with our many stories, photos, events - good or bad. Many before me have done so much work on tracing this line - we can honor them by just continuing what they started............ Let's bring it up to date! As of July 27th, 1998 - I have written to 11 of the 12 remaining grandchildren; to help get us on track digging up those stories and photos! I will gladly share any Stansbury information with descendants of other branches of this tree. I am looking forward to hearing from the 'Johnson Clan'...... (wouldn't Granny get a kick to know we were all in touch again?) ..... Lots of Love, ConnieSome Surnames included are: Breighten, Brown, Burnett, Cabaniss, Clark, Collins, Coker, Ford, French, Fryar, Glass, Hankins, Harness, Haynes, Helton, Johnson, Lynch, Monday, McMurry, Murphy, Owens, Reynolds, Rose, Simpson, Stansberry, Stansbury, Wells, Wilhite, Wilhoit(e)... and many, many more..................
