The surnames I am searching for are Tomlin, Phillips, Burk, Smith, and Cleveland. The Tomlins and Phillips this century settled in East Texas. Previously the families were mostly in the southern states such as Alabama, S. Carolina, Tennesee and Georgia.
In particular, I am looking for a family connection through Gideon W. Smith, born 12/25/1779 and died 2/14/1837 in Madison County, Georgia.
