Gravel Pit Grove, the Home of Daniel Lee Wells

Julian Elroy Wells, born May 16, 1873 in Waterville, Vermont, is the Great-Grandfather of Daniel Lee Wells. Susanna Elliot, born May 8, 1878 in Indiana, married Julian on November 16, 1898. Julian's parents, the Orsmus Wells', came from the state of Vermont. Settled in Ness County Kansas where they lived in a sod house. In the early 1890's they moved to Oklahoma, Indian Territory. They first moved to Crescent then later moved to Covington. Their children were: Warren, Julia, Eli, Julian, and Fannie. They are buried near Fairmont, Oklahoma.Julian Elroy Wells made the "Run" in the Oklahoma Cherokee Strip on September 16, 1893 and staked a claim near Covington. There children were: Lillie, Merrill, Orville, Raymond, Howard, Lizzie, Leona, Eli, Julian (Jr.), Emery, and Lorena.Raymond Elroy Wells married Cecil Allie Marshall, December 22, 1925. They had three children: Raymond Elroy (Jr), Daniel Lee and Donna Jean. This page is created by Daniel (Dan) Lee Wells. Daniel married Patricia (Patty) Sue Burnett, May 15, 1956.Dan & Patty have three children, Daniel (wife Terrie Jensen), D. Ann (husband Randy Norman), and Donald (wife Susan Kinney).
