The Rogers & Welker Family Home Page

I am researching information on the ancestors of Guy Elmer ROGERS (1890-1962)family. I have quite a bit of information on his mother, Rachel Tennesse WHALEY (1854-1943) - daughter of Thomas WHALEY, but very little on his father, Joseph Franklin ROGERS (1854-1940). Guy married Helene Harriet ARN (1899-1994)and I also need information on her ancestors. Her father was Rudolf Arnold ARN, and her mother was Minna REETZKE ARN (aka Minnie Reetzke Arn) from Germany. Arnold ARN was the son of Rudolf ARN (1823-1902) and Anna STEINER (1841-1920) from Biel, Switzerland. They both moved to Chicago, IL in the 1880s and married in 1897 in Chicago. Some of their other children include: Robert Edward ARN, Martha ARN, Rudy ARN, Minnie ARN, Katherine ARN, and Myrtle ARN YORK (Mary York). Arnold and Minna ARN lived in Stuart, OK, in the early 1900s, and he lived with his youngest children in McAlester in 1930. Guy and Helene ARN ROGERS spent most of their married lives in Oklahoma - Stuart, OK & Oklahoma City, and they had 2 boys - Guy Arnold & Carl Edward ROGERS.

I have some informaton but would like more on the ancestors of Eugene Bertrand SAVAGE (1894-1979)- descendant of W. V. SAVAGE and Francis Marion SAVAGE and Lillian Vivian GRAVES(1897-1992)- descendant of William Terrisha GRAVES, Thomas GRAVES, James TURNER, Terisha TURNER, Judith TURNER, Humphrey HAMNER, Rebecca HAMNER, Henry BIBB, Elizabeth SUTHERLAND BIBB, and Addie Anna PALMER. They both spent most of their lives in Hartshorne, OK. They were married in the 1920s and had 2 children - William Eugene & Dorothy SAVAGE.

Also, I am looking for information on the HAMMERT & SCHLEGEL families from Anadarko. Some of the family names include Walter Scott HAMMERT, Bernard HAMMERT, Elizabeth Gertrude Wilhelmina SCHLEGEL, Jeremiah Ulrich SCHLEGEL, Frederick SCHLEGEL, Sophie SIGGS, and Adelina MEINKE.

On the other side of the family, I am researching the ancestors of Kenneth Melvin WELKER (1903-1973), descendant of Enoch WELKER (born in Ohio around 1838, married Elizabeth WEIHEL in Eudora, Kansas, and had one son, Fred Edward WELKER. Fred married Bertha Agnes HAMM, daughter of William HAMM and Ellen Elizabeth MAY. I alsao also need information on the ancestors of Kenneth's wife, Mary Ann HEY (1903-1984), descendant of Jacob HEY, Stephen HEY, Caroline DIERKES, Jacob Peter BECKER, Mary Catherine BECKER, and Margaget SCHMITZ. They lived in St. Louis, MO when their children were born, but they spent most of their married lives in Oklahoma City, and they had 2 boys - Richard WELKER (Dick WELKER) & John Donald WELKER.

I am also looking for information on the ancestors of Thomas Benjamin PORTER (1897-1975) - descendant of David Benjamin PORTER and Anna LONERGAN, David Ewing PORTER, Mary JAMES PORTER, Thomas Ben LONERGAN, Mary O'BRIEN. I also need information on the ancestors of his wife Ima Jean CAMERON - descendant of Evan Dhu CAMERON and Clara Williams. They had 1 daughter - Tomi Jean and they lived in Oklahoma City. Evan Dhu CAMERON's ancestors are John Worthy CAMERON, Caroline CRAWFORD, Mary WORTHY, John WORTHY, Elizabeth RIDDLE, Gov. Neil CAMERON, John Merchant CAMERON, and Margaret MONROE.
