Researching the family of Jacob Welsh born 1793+- in Maryland and moved to Washington Township, Pa. He was married to Hanna Mentzer, Nancy Shockey, and Catherine Mentzer. Have wills and orphans dockets. John Levi Welsh son of Jacob was born in Pigeon Cove, Franklin County, Pa. This would be in the Northwest part of Franklin County. Searching for Jacob's Father. Thomas Welsh, Maxwell Welsh. Unknown at this time. There also were Two Frederick Welsh's on the Census of Franklin, County, Pa.

Jacob and John L moved to Williamsville Sangamon County, Il., about 1857. Jacob was on the 1860 Census with Wife and family. John L and family was on the 1870 Census. John L Welsh's family are buried in Illiopolis, Sangamon County, Il. Other Welshs buried in Mount Auburn and Taylorville Grove City Cemetery in Christian County.

The Welsh clan moved to Cedar County, Marion Twp., in Missouri as indidcated on the 1910 and 1920 Census. All the family moved back to Mount Auburn, Il., between 1920 and 1930.

My father Gilbert Percy Welsh was married to Edith Cole between 1920 & 1925. I have found no record of this but family records prove that this is true. Gilbert married Sabara Fitzsimmons in Dec 1927. Edith and Gilbert were not divorced as far as I know however this was a secret, however; My brother Eugene and I recall a vacation we took to Missouri in 1939 and we met Edith in Fort Scott Kansas and she and he signed some papers. I assume that this was a divorce. We were told at the time Edith's daughters were not our reletatives.
