| Kathy and Jimmy Welcher wed on September 18, 2004. This united two families into one. The family tree has grown with several branches extended from Kentucky, Georgia, and West Virginia. This includes Huffman's, Welcher's, Mattingly's, Powell's, Banta's, Sizemore's, Lewis's, and many more. The Welcher name originated in England with the first Welcher's settling in Wiltshire, England. This is where Stonehenge was built. They held a family seat from ancient times before and after the Norman Conquest in 1066. One of the first settlers in the United States was George Welcher whom settled in Maryland in 1742. Alot of descendants of John and Thomas Welcher settled in the Barbados islands in 1679. Kathy has traced the Mattingly's on her mother's side back to the 1600's |
