I am new to genealogy, but I have very quickly become addicted! It has been an interesting and often quite surprising endeavor, full of ups and downs.
I have several surnames that I am researching: on the maternal side INGRAM, JONES, HUSK, RICHARDS, BUSH, WILSON, HACKER and TURNER, all from West Virginia, Virginia, Pennsylvania and Maryland with roots in Germany and Ireland. On the paternal side, the list is shorter, mainly because we are only third generation American: MARTINO, MANCUSO, BRUNETTI. The families immigrated from Calabria, Italy and settled in Harrison County, WV.

I am having a bit of trouble finding information on my maternal great-grandfather. His name was James Franklin INGRAM. We believe he was from a place called Pointed Rocks, MD. After a long search through old family papers, I have discovered that his father's name was Thomas (possibly Tommas) INGRAM and his mother's first name was Annie. I found no reference to her maiden name. If these people are familiar to you PLEASE email me!

My husband Doug is also researching his family. Some of the surnames he is tracing are WELCH, SWIGER, KNIGHT, STOUT, JENKINS, FLOWERS, HINKLE, DIVERS, RADCLIFF, CASTER, STOCKWELL, MARKS, CLEAVENGER, GAIN, BACHUS. His family is also mainly in West Virginia.

Of course, I am also very willing to share my information, so if you are researching any of these lines, let me know if I can help.
