John H. entered the activities of life in Wayne County, Ohio, December 15, 1868. In March 1884, he moved with his parents to Halstead, Harvey County, Kansas. Here he enjoyed fair school privileges. For a bosom companion he married Bertha Fendrick, October 1898, the wedding was solemnized by Rev JS Miller, of the Evangelical Association of which both are honored members. His official positions in the church were Sunday school superintendent, trustee and at present a steward. He has been treasurer of the School Board for the last 8 years. He is a successful farmer on the home place.
