I am researching the family of my 4th Great Grandfather Edward Wilbourn who died in Surry County, NC in 1806. He was born in 1724/1725 in location unknown. The oldest record I have of him was in Prince William County, VA when he served on a jury in 1753. The only other Wilbourn in Prince William County in that time period was Duke Wilburn who appeared on a Tax List and filed assault charges against a neighbor which was dismissed. Edward had 6 children to a wife unknown and later married Mary St.Clair. They had 4 children and moved to Granville County, NC where he served in the NC Militia during the Revolution. For his service, he was granted three parcels of land in Surry County where he lived out the rest of his life. I have very many records on him and his descendants and would be willing to share with anyone interested. Any information on his ancestors would be greatly appreciated.
