I am researching the George Rau/Row/Rowe family from Germany. Also the Miles Allen family. Miles born abt 1814 came from Trumball, Ohio. He bought land in Fairfield Twp., DeKalb Co., in 1837. His neighbors were Chancy and Samuel Allen. Also we are trying to trace back the Mills line from Dickenson's Landing, Canada. Nicholas Spindler/Jacob Spindler/Nicholas Demus Spindler is another line we are researching. Jacob was born in Maryland abt 1795. When I can figure out how to do it, I will have what Row information I have on this home page. I have around 2000 descendants listed from the George Rau/Row/Rowe line. Many thanks to Cheryl Thompson, Rod Mills (My brother), Darlene Howard, Sandy Huffman, Jim Wells (my husband), Wava Rowe White and her resources, and everyone that has helped point me in the right direction in the past.

A new line researched is my husband and daughter's family. Some surnames include Altenburg, Hanes, Cooley, Sines, McCafferty, Lindesmith, Copeland, Heffelfinger, Williard, Knepper, Wagner, Wells, Kendrick, Battles, Devinney, Latson, Battles, Gardner, Rose, and Aldrich. MANY thinks for those inviduals that have cared enough to make web pages, resource books, to answer queries and in any way to preserve family history. Much research was done in New York and Ohio courthouse, history centers, and libraries. Indiana research was done in the local courthouses and libraries of DeKalb, Steuben, LaGrange, Elkhart, Noble, and the Fort Wayne Library. A VERY BIG THANK YOU to AMANDA WELLS for all the important dedication and help she has given me in every way possible. Also thank you for the help and support from my husband Jim Wells and daughter Jaime Hanni-Wells. Couldn't have done it without you. A special thanks also goes to Peg Crouch, Theron and Joy Hanes, the late Florence Hardin, Tom Hardin, Bruce Cotton, Betty Geyer, Laura Dietz, Jack Lindesmith, Ken Everetts, Edwin Copeland, Lisa Lindesmith, Richard Cooley, Fred Wagner, Rob Altenburg, Kendall Martin, Elizabeth White, Nancy Shultz, Michael J. Moore, J. Douglas Bradshaw, Mary Ellen Maurer, Cindy Lolling, and Regina Fallace. (Those individual personal contributors and helpers and authors of those books and webpages and plain old family history that has been so helpful). We have another homepage at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~wellspages/Index.html with more information and pictures.

Birth information past 1930 in the Hanes-Altenburg family tree has not been published. If you need this or want me to pass on notes or resources, please feel free to email.
