I am researching the ancestors of the Carl Gustav Stern, (b. 08 Dec 1809, d. 29 Aug 1879), who left Naugard in the Pommern province of Prussia (present-day Nowogard in the West Pomeranian Voivodship of Poland) with his wife and 4 children in 1845, and headed for the Republic of Texas via Bark Franziska (Bremen to Galveston). They eventually settled at New Wehdem in Austin County, where Carl (now Charles) was a charter member of St. Jacobi (St. James) Lutheran Church. |
