I am searching for the ancestors of two families that married in Flint, Michigan: the FORD family and the RATZA family. My parents were Chester Louis RATZA and Ernestine Beatrice FORD. They were married in Napoleon, Ohio in 1947. My research in the last ten years has taken me to Washington, D.C., Boston, Salt Lake City, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, and Poland. Along the way, I have met many wonderfully helpful people. Will you join me on my journey into the past?? May I be of assistance on yours? My Mother's parents were William Richard and Marie Georgina (CHAUSSE)FORD. William was born in 1880 in Marion, Indiana to John R. and Elnora (WIAND)FORD. They were married in Marion in 1879. Other sons were Arthur L. and Clinton J. FORD. John R. FORD was born on December 23, 1853 (Hartford City?) and died on December 3, 1928 in Marion. John R. was the son of Frederick FORD and Mary M.WARD. Frederick was born in England around 1828, lived in NYC, and married Mary M. Ward in Kentucky in 1848. I am interested in any information on this FORD Family. My Father's parents were John J. and Stella (JAKOWCZYK)RATZA. John was born in Gaylord, Michigan. His parents were Joseph and Maryanna (SHEFFLER)RATZA. Joseph's parents were Joseph and Eva (THESKA)RATZA. Both Josephs and Eva were born in Poland. In the area of Legbond and Czersk. They were Kushubians. Would appreciate any photographs or informtion on the RATZA family? Will share what I have collected. This site is new and I will be adding information soon.
