| I am researching the Wert/Parker families and though keep finding additional information, I have run into a dead end with my maternal great-grandfather. His name was James Griffiths and he was born in Fishguard, Wales around 1840. His father was Peter Griffiths and his mother was Mary Sanford. Peter died in Wales when James was a child and Mary remarried a Frank Knight. Around 1860. James Griffiths who was a Ship-engineer came to Port Townsend via Cape Horn He is one of few European immigrants who settled in the U.S., never setting foot on the East Coast. Sometime before 1870, his mother (Mary) and step-father (Frank) also came to Washington State where they settled. What I am specifically looking for is any information on Peter Griffiths or Mary Sanford, Griffiths, Knight. |
