??? Margaret (b. WFT Est. 1715-1740, d. Nov 1800)
Notes for ??? Margaret:
Marriage Records for Thomas Puryear and Margaret ____________ have not been found, but there is speculation that her maiden name was "Loving" as persons of that name witnessed both the will of Thomas, 1762 and Margaret 36 years later - 1798.
Another matter of conjecture is a Deed Abstract of 6 October, 1760: Margaret Pyreer of St. John's Parish, King William Co. to David Hopkins of Lunenburg Co., for 30 pounds, 370 acres...patented to Drury Ragsdale in 1740 and left to her by his will. The Deed Abstract said "Left to Margaret Pyreer, then his wife."But the signature on the deed was spelled Margaret Puryear. This would lead us to believe that this Margaret who married Thomas Puryear and became the mother of his 10 children was the widow of Drury Ragsdale and was or was closely related to the Lovings.
