This is the marriage bond of Levi West and Elizabeth Barrot (Barrett).

Robeson County \
Know all men by this county that we Levi West and John Cook are held and
firmly bound unto his Excellency John Branch, Esquire, Govenor of the state
aforesaid for the time being and his successor in office in the sum of Five
hundred pounds lawful money of the said state for which payment will and truly
to be made, we bind ourselves, our Heirs executor and administrator, jointly and
firmly by these ______ ______ with our seal and dated this 7th day of July
1820.
The condition of this obligation in which that whereas the above bounden
Levi West hath made application for a license for a marriage to be celebrated
between himself and Elizabeth Barrot of said County. Now, therefore, of it shall
never here after appear that there is any lawfull cause to to obstruct the said
marriage that this obligation to be void and of no effect otherwise to remain
in full force and virtue.

Shortly after the death of Levi, the children petitioned the court for
shares of the property whereon "their stepmother" ( Sallie Page ) was presently
living. The estate included more than one tract of land. There is a good
chance that Levi and his wives are buried in the old West graveyard out from
Manchester/Spring Lake on Highway 210, not far from Bethel Baptist Church
Cemetary where so many of there descendants are buried.
