St. Thomas Anglican Episcopal Church, Est. 1777. Edward West [1729-1812] donated land for this church. The Church may have been named St. Thomas in honor of Sir Thomas West, Lord De La Warr in honor of the first Colonial Govenor of Virginia per literature pertaining to the history of this church. The photograph is of the replica erected at slightly smaller scale on the original foundation in 1958 in preparation of the American Bicentennial.
