Philander G. Westcott of said county being duly sworn (---) and says that he
knows and is well acquainted with (---) Salley M. Beadley. Widow of Orange
Beardsley, who was a private in Company C" 147 Regt N.Y. Volts. And this
(---) further says that he was present about the time, and knew of the fact
of the birth of Edgar Beardsley the eldest child of the said Sally M.
Beardsley and Orange Beardsley deceased. And that the said Edgar was born on
the 27th day of February AD 1857 - as this (deponent?) knows, and has good
reason to believe - and said (deponent?) further says that said Edgar has
always been know and regarded as the son of said parents -
Sworn and subscribed to before me this 18th day of April AD 1871
