George Barker, Sr. b ca 1720-30. George Barker, Sr. appears on the tax lists of Surry County, North Carolina for the years 1771, 72, 74 and 75. He later entered 150 acres of land, December 8, 1778 in Wilkes County, North Carolina. He may have married Elizabeth ? He had three known sons, George Jr., Hezekiah and John; there may have been other children. George Barker, Sr. died ca 1806 in Wilkes County, North Carolina.
