The Vannice/Van Nuys family has been in the United States since 1654 with the arrival from Holland of Aucke Janse and family.
The family belonged to the Dutch Reform church and were some of the first Dutch settlers in New Amsterdam (Manhattan Island, New York). Through many years and many generations, my branch of the family migrated to Brooklyn/Long Island to Somerset County, New Jersey to the Conewago area of Pennsylvania to Harrodsburg, Kentucky, to Switzerland County, Indianna and from there north to White County, Indianna. This research is, of course, on-going.
