I am researching the surnames of Monroe, Weysham, Risser and Oliphant.I am related to James Monroe, The Fifth President of the United States.My grandmother was a Monroe.My grandfather, John Thompkins Monroe, was the Mayor of New Orleans, La. during the Civil War.I am looking for the link to the Fifth President of the United States.I know that he had three brothers.Joseph Jones Monroe had four wives but cannot find out who are their children.The Weysham family seems to have come from The Netherlands in Holland and France and Germany.I have gone back as far as 1839 for George Samuel Weysham.
I have not completed my research on the Oliphant and Risser families.
