I am researching the Whaley family tree. The earliest Whaley reference I have is Edward Whaley who came to America and settled in Hadley MA in 1660. He was a Puritan and married the sister of Sir George Middleton.

I am missing generational info for the gap between Edward - Charles Whaley. If you can fill in the gaps I would be glad to share any info that I have.

    Dad was underage(16)when he joined the Air Force in 1942(15th AAF, 461st Bomb Group, 766th Squadron, Aerial gunner, B-24 Liberator, flew over 73 combat missions) with an assumed name. Two years later, while stationed in Italy, a warrant was issued back home because he did not show up to register at the local draftboard when he came of age! Was honorably discharge Nov 11, 1945 with rank of Technical Sgt. Received the following decorations: Air Medal w/3 Oak Leaf Clusters,D.F.C., Good Conduct Medal, Presidential Citation w/Oak Leaf Cluster, Mediterranean Theatre of Operation w/5 Battle Stars, Victory Medal.
