| With the birth of our daughter, Kendyl Erin WHEELER, on 5/7/97, our family has grown and my interest in genealogy has been renewed. Kendyl joins her half-brothers, David Seth EVANS and Robert Brogan EVANS, and her half-sister, Haley Ann WHEELER. To top THAT off, she will be getting a new baby brother this summer!! The genealogy of the EVANS side of the family is fairly complete, so I am now concentrating on my family (GOSNELL, PLIZGA, SEFCHECK, SIWULA, KOFKO, TAYLOR, GREEN and WEBB) and my husband Tom's family, which is virgin territory for me (WHEELER, CONNELLY, JACKSON, SNOW, THOMAS, BOWLING and BURNS). My paternal ancestors (GOSNELL, TAYLOR, GREEN, and WEBB) hailed mostly from England, with grandmother Lavinia TAYLOR being born there and ggf Albert GOSNELL also. The Taylor line has been completed back to the late 1700s thanks to my cousin Linda TAYLOR Russell who is also interested in genealogy and still lives in England. I'm stuck on the WEBB line as well as the GREEN line. Ggm Ethel (or Eythel) GREEN may be the only ancestor to have originated here in the US, though my aunt states her father was born in Ireland. This branch of the family lived mostly in PA and OH. My maternal ancestors (PLIZGA, SEFCHECK, SIWULA, KOFKO)all came to the US from Poland (Austrian and German Poland) in the late 1800s, early 1900s. I'm kind of stuck there and would appreciate any tips on finding out where in Poland they came from and how to get records from the homeland. When they immigrated they settled in SW PA to work the coal mines. I plan to update these pages regularly as I add information, so visit often.
