Wheeler, John       Spouse : Catt, Polly
       Marriage date : 8 Feb 1824

John Wheeler does not appear in Gibson County Census after 1840. William R. King remained in Gibson County. (They both signed affidavits for Widows Pension for Elizabeth Welch Wheeler.) There was a John Wheeler of about the same age that is Knox County, Indiana, but not proven to be the same John. A Charles Wesley Wheeler, who lived all his life in Gibson County, listes his father as John Wheeler on his death certificate. No evidence has been uncovered to confirm him to be the same John Wheeler. In fact we do not know that John Wheeler was a son of James Wheeler. No document has been discovered that actually names their children. The number of children are indicated as 5 sons and 4 daughters in an early history of Gibson County, Indiana.--rwwjr
