Information gathered at the Olmsted County Historical Society in Rochester, Minnesota on August 2-3, 2001 by me, Steven L. Goettel.

Note:  I arrived at the library midday on Thursday August 2 and found out the library would be closed on Saturday, and likely early on Friday because of the County Fair.  Anxious to gather as much as I could, I first began retrieving marriage information for Olmsted and Winona counties from microfilm indexes.  What follows is a combination of index references where only the names of participants, date of marriage and the record locations are listed, then discovering some periods to include only indexes for “groom’s” names I went individual records catalogued chronologically that include some names of witnesses and officiating ministers/officials.  Unfortunately, as in Faribault County, Minnesota marriage records do not include any personal information such as age or parents to confirm identity.  My relationship references are deduced from existing family records and other research.

The most likely, but yet unverified connection, is that Minnie is a widow of a Seefeld {not Theodore}and is a daughter of Michael Frederick Zimmerman and Maria Dorothea Zickerick, and a sister of Fred Schmidt’s wife Augusta and the witness Fred W.
