Johane Louise Goettel was the wife of Johan Gottlieb Goettel, and mother of Gottlieb Goettel Jr. who married Anna Schmidt. She is buried in the Thompson Corner Cemetery, near their family land, in Lafayette Township, Allamakee County, Iowa.
