1. JAMES1 ARMSTRONG was born Bet. 1742 - 1776, and died 1860 in Mississippi. He married ELENOR POLLOCK. She was born 1760, and died 1823.

I've traced the Armstrong's back to James Armstrong b. est.1742-1776 d.
est. 1807-1860. No location, but most Armstrong's are from Scotland along
the border with England. They were notorious cattle thieves and King James
I tried to wipe them out at one time. That's why a lot of them ended up in
the colonies. James married Elenor Pollock b. 1760 d. 1823. There
6th child John b. Oct. 24, 1795 Clarke Co., Ga. married Sarah Hawthorne b.
Aug. 8, 1800 in Roberson Co., North Carolina. Their 1st son Drayton B.
Armstrong b. 1822 in Georgia. The family then moved to Alabama where they
had 6 more children and then they finally moved to Mississippi abt. 1840.
