Jeremiah, an old time Baptist minister performed numerous marriages in the Lawrence and Johnson County areas. County clerks listed him by the following surnames in their records, Cordle, Caudill, Cordial, Cordill, etc. Often many of these different spellings on the same page of the marriage book.
Per the records of Hoods Fork United Baptist Church, on the third Saturday in June 1847, Jeremiah was Baptized by Enoch Green. On the third Saturday in August 1857, Jane Cordial was Baptized. On the third Saturday of March 1859, Jeremiah was ordained as a minister. Per the minutes of the second Saturday in December 1880 he is listed as Moderator of the Church. On the second Saturday in February 1895, there are minutes of a Dedication Meeting to Jeremiah Cordial. He is listed as being born May 3, 1824, Baptized the Third Saturday in June 1847, ordained on the third Saturday in March 1859, and died November 12, 1894.-Appalachia Crossroads

b 1803, m to Rachell, Jeremiah's dad. And # 132 is Jerry Cordill b 1850, m to
Hannah Clevenger, this is #135 Wm's grandson & #133 Jeremiah's nephew. I can't seem to fit J. W. Cordill in with my line. Is this William?
