4. Swingle tree is the swinging
horizontal cross bar to which the traces or tug of a harnessed horse are
fastened
5 Clavis (written Claviz here), is the key that drops in the Swingtree and
holds it together.
6. Trammel is an iron hook used for handing kettles and other vessels over the fire.
7. Mattock: An implement for digging and grubbing. The
head has two long steel blades, one like an adz and the other like a narrow
ax or the point of a pickax.
8. Harrow Teeth: An implement of agriculture, usually formed
of pieces of timber or metal crossing each other, and set with iron or wooden
teeth. It is drawn over plowed land to level it and break the clods, to stir
the soil and make it fine, or to cover seed when sown.

9. Flax Hackle: Middle English hechele,
hekele; Dutch hekel; German hechel An
instrument made of long teeth set in a board for cleansing flax or hemp from
the tow or coarse part. A Flax comb.
