"Edward Lee Whitener of Dalton, GA."
During my research of "The Whitener Family", I have found that the name has been kept very much alive.A bond that gets stonger evey day, and I am very thankful to be a part of the family.A family that prays together, stays together! The Whitener Family can even be traced back to the beginning of the carpet industry.Catherine Evans Whitener, is credited for the beginning of quilting. The style and pattern of her quilting, later became known as "TUFTED".We all know the doors she opened in Whitfield County. There was Roy Whitener who was a coach at Valley Point High School. He also was a partner at "D&W", a successful carpet mill. The eldest son of Roy Whitener; Edward Lee Whitener, owns Universal Textile Sales. A successful racking company,it is also a family operated buisness that his two children help operate. Angela W. Mitchell, owns Univesal Textile Sales INC., and Jason E. Whitener owns UTS11.All very strong links to the carpet industries. | "Edward Lee Whitener of Dalton, GA." Updated July 5, 2001 |
