(St. John's Lutheran Church records, Charleston, SC). A resident in 1731 of Leimen, later a citizen. He was the son of Andreas Dickert, a citizen of "Unternheim" (probably Undenheim near Oppenheim). He married 10 January 1730 in Leimen, Christina Sophia Kalbrunner, born 6 April 1710, daughter of Johann Philipp Kallbrunner and wife, magdalena. Notes for Matthias Sr. Wicker:
Biography: A notation of 2 Aril 1752 in the Church book of the village of Baiertal in the Neckar Valley region of Germany indicate that Mathew Wecker with wife & five children left their home for the new land (Werner Hacker, "Kurpfalzische Auswanderer vom Unteren Neckar"). Matthias Wicker evidently lost his wife and two of his children in route from their German homeland to Rotterdam as not a life was lost on the Upton in route from Rotterdam to Charleston, South Carolina.


Biography: The Wicker family of the South Carolina Dutch Fork was founder by Mathew Wecker, who arrived with three children in 1752, coming on the Upton. Children listed at the time were: Wulrath 15, Henry 13, Matthias 9.
