| My name is Randy K Whitford Sr and I became the sixth child of Warden & Savannah Fitzhugh Whitford on 12-8-1959 in Granite City Illinois.I have been married to Carole Elizabeth Laws since July 1985. We have three children Randy Jr, Zachary William and Elizabeth Erin. We are members of the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints. And we are very much into family research. My Mother Savannah Fitzhugh was born in Dover Tennessee on 4-22-1922. Her parents Leonard Lory Fitzhugh born 1-3-1898 in Stewart County Tennessee, His Father James Mike Fitzhugh was born 1-6-1869 in Stewart County Tennessee, The Fitzhughs are linked to Robert E Lee and George Washington. The Scott Fitzhugh Bridge in Paris Tennessee is named after a Great Uncle. My Grandmother Mentie Oran Carney born in Stewart County Tennessee on 4-18-1900. My Father Warden Henry Whitford born 3-31-1927 in Stewart County Tennessee, My GrandFather Henry Walden Whitford born 09-9-1898. Henry Walden and his son Franklin William died 09-10-1937 while digging a cisern. Great GrandFather William Henry Whitford and my Great GrandMother Victoria Page died together in a house fire on 5-31-1948 near Stewart County Tennessee in old the town of Tharpe, which is now The Land Between The Lakes,and Goverment owned. My Great Great Grandfather Willis Whitford Jr bore children Willian Calvin,(aka)(W.C.) Who was a prisoner of war and held at a camp in Alton Illinois during the Civil War. He was also a Mason. Rebecca Clementine, Martha Jane, Tennessee, Missouri Angeline to name some of his children. We have very little on Willis, We beleive he is connected to Thomas Whitford of North Carolina, But we do not have any kind of proof. I do have family that lives and has lived and died in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, Tennessee, New Mexico, Illinois and North Caralina. I am looking for any kind of information on the following families. The Whitfords, Fitzhughs, Youngs, Olivers, Cherrys or Lancasters. Any information would be helpful. I am willing to share what information I have and would be very pleased if I could help someone out with the information that I have been able to obtain. | |
