Bureau of Land Management documents of Patents and Warranties shows that James, Harvey, William and John Berry of Bath County, Kentucky, obtained land patent # 16282 on November 1, 1839, for 1920 acres in Sangamon and Christian Counties, Illinois. Further, Harvey Berry obtained another land patent #16248 on May 15, 1852 for 40 acres in Christian County, Illinois.
