He was born May 28, 1816 in Henderson County, Kentucky, and died June 11, 1900 in Milwaukie, Clackamas County, Oregon.

3. JAMES BAXTER² BERRY (HARVEY¹) was born September 17, 1826 in Schuyler County, Illinois, and died July 09, 1893 in Latah County, Idaho. He married ELEANOR GRANTHAM September 07, 1848 in Montgomery County, Illinois (Source: Illinois Statewide Marriage Index, Volume 2, Page 65.), daughter of JAMES GRANTHAM and FRANCES SIGHTS. She was born September 17, 1826 in Montgomery County, Kentucky, and died 1893 in Melrose, Nez Perce County, Idaho.

Notes for JAMES BAXTER BERRY:
Copied from a book: Wilson Township James B. Berry, merchant, Enyart, is one of the substantial citizens of this township. He was born in Schuyler County, Illinois, September 17, 1826, and was the son of Harvy and Mary Berry, nee Swan. The former was a Virginian by birth. James B grew to manhood as a farmer, enjoying in youth the advantages of the common schools. On September 6, 1848, his marriage to Miss Eleanor Grantham occurred in Montgomery County, Illinois. Miss B was a native of Illinois. In 1853 Mr. Berry removed from Illinois to Gentry County, Missouri, and was engaged in farming for some time, near Albany. In 1855, he came to Wilson Township and in December, 1867, to his present place near Enyart. He has 153 acres of land, 100 acres being fenced and a good house, barn, orchard, etc: his residence being in section 7, township 64, range 32. In 1878, Mr. B. embarked in the mercantile business and in June of that year he was appointed postmaster of Enyart. During the war he served in the militia, enlisting in Colonel Craynor's regiment in 1861. They have a family of seven children.
